The 100 Series Alpha Aluminium frame is lightweight enough to sail up the climbs but remains stiff enough for those all-important traffic light sprints. Constructed around the Domane range’s tried-and-tested sportive geometry, the AL 2 keeps you in a comfortable position to reduce fatigue for long days in the saddle. The carbon fork also maximises comfort and reduces weight, thanks to the swooping design and optimised carbon layup. Adorned with mudguard mounts throughout, there are plenty of storage options to take some snacks and your favourite camping mug along for the ride.

Shimano’s tried and tested 8-speed Claris groupset comes equipped with an 11-32 cassette so you can spin up the climbs with ease. Tektro mechanical disc brakes offer plenty of stopping power for the subsequent descent. Bontrager R1 700x32c tyres come fitted as standard, but with clearance to accommodate up to 700x35c tyres the AL 2 would still be right at home on light gravel. All-in-all, the Domane AL 2 ticks a lot of boxes, and won’t cost you the Earth!
