The Trek Dual Sport 2 is a superb commuter bicycle with the capability to follow your nose down that bridleway you’ve always wondered about, when you fancy taking the long way home. This model, the Dual Sport 2 Equipped Stagger, features a step-through frame design to take the strain out of mounting and dismounting – pretty handy if you've got full panniers or your jeans are a little tight – as well as the full complement of mudguards, rack and battery lights.

The Dual Sport range is firstly designed to keep things efficient on the road: the aluminium frame is nice and light, while 700c wheels help keep your momentum. However it also turns its hand rather well to gravel and light trails, with a lockout-equipped Suntour suspension fork and 40mm wide tyres keeping things comfortable and controlled. The Dual Sport 2 is kitted out with 24-speed Shimano drivetrain components for a huge range of gears, while hydraulic disc brakes from Tektro provide excellent stopping power in all conditions. On the subject of all conditions, this Equipped example has you covered – literally! Mudguards are fitted as standard, along with the rear pannier rack for your luggage and battery-powered front and rear lights. Ergonomic handlebar grips and saddle are specced from Trek’s in-house parts team, Bontrager, to finish the build off with a flourish.
