Brixton Cycles Club meets for a Sunday Club Runs at Cafe St Germain in Crystal Palace from 8.30am, with rides leaving from 9am.
Non-members are more than welcome to join us for two runs to see if the pace and company suits. After the completion of the second run you will have the option of joining the Club and we can discuss how to proceed with membership.
If you are interested in coming along please can you email firstname.lastname@example.org so that we know that you are attending.
We operate a non-drop policy and therefore we will always wait for the slowest member of the group. That said, we would expect any new member to be able to ride 40 miles and climb the sort of steep hills that are common in Kent ? you certainly don't have to hold any KoM or QoM for such hills however!
Please note that we can only take people out in you have clipless pedals or toe-straps / cages. We also expect people to have a roadworthy bike and be self-sufficient in replacing an inner tube and have enough water and food for the ride. Finally, if the weather is bad full mudguards are mandatory and you will not be allowed to ride without them.

The Brixton Cycles Race Team started in 1990. Members competed in various disciplines, but the emphasis was on socialising. The shop played a role in the grassroots mountain bike racing scene of that period, sponsoring the Beastway series from the beginning. Mountain bike innovator Keith Bontrager sponsored the BC team and picked up a few style cues in return. The mid 90's track team featured the mighty, much missed Rob Jefferies.
The Brixton Cycles Club was initially set up in October 1997 because friends of the shop and customers wanted to ride together.
